ok the thing is i just got my computer working again after it broke, but now the internal modem wont work. it starts up ringing the number and then the screeching sound then sometimes it stops and thats it then other times it gets stuck on one of the screechs so im left being deaf for a while and not going online. sometimes it gos on line works for a while then stops and logs off. any ideas what i could do.

Also what sort of connections have you guys got your console hooked up to your tv. i have hy 64 straight to tv and thats it and my ps1 hooked up to hi fi and then to tv with scart and my gamecube is hooked up with the lead i got with sound out of the hi fi and vision on tv.

my mate has his ps2 hooked on to a hi fi and 3 tvs (dont ask why is juat has) in away its a good idea cause you see the game where ever you are in the room.

lol, i'm with BT anytime and there actually not bad, definatley better than AOL neway, and now that you mention it AOL is probably the reason you can't get online as they a frought with problems, as for solving the problem it could be a number of things but assuming that you have registered everything correctly then it's probably just AOL, would'nt bother ringing their helpline though as apparently it's like getting blood out of a stone, hmm, how much are you paying per month anyway? as if you paying £14.99 a month or something like that then it may just be easier to switch to BT internet anytime as you shouldnt have any initial problems getting online with them and their generally pretty good, neway thats just my advice, take it or leave it :) good luck with sorting the prob.

For the modem...

It seems like its your ISP and not your Modem. What ISP are you with?

When I was on modem I use to get disconnected sometimes with BT, but now I'm on broadband so I'm fine :-)

If it's bothering you I think you should sign up with a new ISP with a realible service.
