Shigeru Miyamoto today revealed exclusive new details about the Pikmin sequel, 'Full Petal Jacket'.

Captain Olimar will again find himself on a planet inhabited with Pikmin, only this time they need your help! The Pikmin have had their onions stolen by a group of evil Pikmin, coloured black, purple and orange (the colours of the Gamecube?) and it's down to you to take the remaining Pikmin into battle to win back the onions, needed to replenish the Pikmin population.

It was revealed that some new types of Pikmin will be under your control (other than the evil black, purple and orange ones) kamikaze Pikmin will explode, taking out anything nearby, but they'll leave a seed to replace themselves. Another new type of Pikmin will have the ability to hover, so you can throw it up into the air, and guide it around before it comes down to land.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about the news is that a multiplayer option will now be available, as you and your friends can pick a Pikmin army, and fight for supremecy on any of the games numerous maps.

This news does, however, end the rumours that Nintendo were working with Konami on a Metal GEar solid/Pikmin crossover, Petal Gear Solid, featuring Solid Snake in his gardening adventures.

--------------------

Also revealed was the return of Luigi. After his success clearing his mansion of ghosts, Peach has called him in to the Mushroom Kingdom Theme Park, which has now been over run with ghosts. It is thought that the larger play area will make for a longer game as Luigi explores all kinds of things, roller-coasters, stalls, halls of mirrors, all of the time taking out the many hidden ghosts, and special portrait ghosts, until the big finale, obviously set in the ghost train.

It was revealed that the game would also incorporate many 'mini-games' to take advantage of the theme park setting, so expect to have to knock down tin cans, hook ducks and throw darts before getting the chance to bag the ghosts.

--------------------

I bet you thought he was gone forever, didn't you? Pitt from Kid Icarus returns from the mascot graveyard to star in what is perhaps Nintendo's most original title yet. The bow and arrow wielding cherub has noticed a severe lack of happy couples around the world, and it's up to you to fire the arrow of love upon perfect couples, to bring happiness to the world. Only it's not as simple as just shooting them, in love there are always many obstacles in the way, and you'll have to use all of your powers to bring these people together!

This clever combination of shooting and puzzles makes for a highly original title - how many other games feature fat naked babies with wings?

--------------------

Miyamoto also surprised us by dressing up as Kirby for yet another announcement. Going back to it's roots, Kirby's Dreamland X carries on from where the Gameboy and NES games left off, only now Dreamland is a huge 3D world, and Kirby's moves have been given a serious upgrade.

The theme is heavily based on dreams, and as such anything can, and will, happen. Expect all of Kirby's teeth to fall out one moment, then arrive at school naked the next in this game that will seriously mess with your head.

--------------------

Animal City will be the sequel to Animal Forest, or Animal Crossing announced Miyamoto. Your character from the original game has moved on from the forest into a big city. Many of the communication aspects of the game have gone, however, as when you try to visit anyone, you'll find they don't have time for you.

It's still possible to take part in all of the same activities that you're used to - try fishing in the polluted river only to get a fine for not having a license. Try some bug catching only to be fined for messing with an endangered species or get a normal job, in an office, and spend your day making up stupid stuff to post on internet forums.

There are actually quite a few of your suggestions i would like to see implimented into the pikmin sequel. The kamikaze and hovering pikmin could make play more interesting.

Another post of genius Meka, really entertaining...

"Full Petal Jacket" - LOL!!!

How about this for a classic quote for that game...

*A psychotic Pikmin sitting on a toilet with a shotgun* -

'It's a world of dirt out there...

'I am living in a world of dirt!'

Okaaay, maybe not.

:D
