I am wrihting to declare my views and also to clear some things up. Firstly, I would like to say that the market (on all platforms) is full of games that are so crap, that they get placed on the shelves using 40 foot barge poles. Im talking about titles like Versailles (ps1) armoured core (ps2 a huge disappointment) I could go on and on so on to my next point. Why are there so many sequels out on the market? okay, I understand resident evil is continuing a story but why Tomb Rader 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 ect. I mean we can count eidos/core. So why give us "a new story" with every release (of exactly the same thing!)?. final fantasy, a great game, very long and well planed, there should be more games like that, maybe under a new genre (i.e. a platformer that actually has some originality, like jack and Dexter).maybe even define a whole new genre. I’m so sick of going in to computer stores and finding shelves lined with the same games, all be it with different titles. I think it’s about time developers go there thinking caps on and produced what the public actually want! They’re still in business because all the gaming public as is the guff they turn out this wont keep up long especially if you’re like me (a 16 year old schoolkid with who has a practically non-existent income!. Thank you for listening to my points

I think the reason companies keep bringing out sequels is because they know it will sell.
Just look at the PS2, its mostly made up of sequels from the ps1, thats why its so succesful.
Yea there are some crap games, but thats always gonna be the case, so we're kinda stuck with that I suppose.
