Old skool intense blasting action meets innovative and complex control.
I love games like this: a simple premise - just blast everything that moves but with controls and technigues that need to be mastered if you want to progress.
GunValkyrie is a game that requires skill and full-on concentration.
If the game is played right, you can spend almost all the gametime in the air twisting one direction then another, blasting and surviving. PURE.
And it's hard, damned hard, but that's where the fun lies - in the challenge.
Space Harrier for the 21st century.
If like me you've got the demo and didn't think much of it, give it another go and try to master the controls, I think it's well worth it - very addictive.
It's a storming game if you like retro-style non-stop action-packed gameplay.
but when i do play it...it is quite tricky and frustrating sometimes....but i'm willing to give it a chance

That happened to me too. I pulled my left trigget out a bit and it stopped. Weird. Someone wrote into OXM about it and they said it was a build up of that white gunk inside the controller that causes it.
As for Gun Valkyre, I enjoyed it, but not to the extent of paying £45 quid to buy it. I did master the controls a bit, but keeping in the air throughout the WHOLE level does sound very hard.

It's an under-rated game.
When I first played the demo I thought: "nah, it's crap" - but I returned to the demo later on and started to get to grips with the unique controls and found it to be much better than I first thought.
I bought it the other day and it's a classy game - I like the "retro feel".
