The latest from Sony is that:

"The letters notifying of collection dates will begin to be dispatched in approximately a week. This will depend on when you placed your pre-order"

I was given this info today, so if there are going to be delays then Sony are not letting on. They are cutting it a bit fine to send out the letters but I suppose if they beginning send them on the 13th, 14th or 15th, then they will still have over a week to get to everyone.

Lets hope that there are no delays, no blockades and no more floods. Everything is conspiring against us UK gamers to deny us our PS2's BUT I for one will swim to GAME to collect mine if I have too!!!

According to (I think it was) the latest Official UK PS Mag, there are apparently 500,000 for the whole of Europe, of which the UK is getting 200,000.

Look, I pre-order on September 7th at 9am and my number is 395093, and I know it was processed and I am on the priority list to get a Playstation 2(did anyone else get told that on the phone by the way guys) and I know ill have one on the 24th, 25th or 26th definately so order number means precisely nothing at all. DONT WORRY

The pre-order number is not an indication of when you will receive a PS2, it is just for reference. The date that you pre-ordered is the most important factor.

Dont worry Matt, theyll change it quickly. I told Sony I was having problems with the mail and they changed mine almost straight away. I wouldnt worry about it. Come letters come right away, I want to know if Im getting mine on release day, I know I must be, correct Kieran?

OH well thats just great!!!

I am moving at the end of this week, thats why I gave them my e-mail in the first place. Now I will have to try and phone them to warn them.

Also, due to the flooding the Royal Mail is suffering delays so that is another brilliant move by Sony. B****r!!

I have received an e-mail from Sony today, and they confirmed that the collection notices will be dispatched within the next 7 days. All notices will be coming by ROYAL MAIL, not by e-mail. All people that will be collecting their machine on the 24th will get their letters first.
