News on the web is still pumping out stories about Sega working for, or perhaps even amalgamating with, Nintendo, at some future stage. I just had an email from another site which still emphatically states that this will happen, dated 6/11/2000. I am getting confused, I didn't think it was possible, but Sega are actually being quoted as saying the Sega games will appear on both Sony and Nintendo platforms in the next 12 months (lucky them) and that Sega will be providing closer cooperation with Nintendo in the near future. ??????????? If you see anymore news on this post it here!

What's a gnes? Anyway, I'm even more confused now because Sega have just leaked to the gaming press hints about the Dreamcast 2 going into development. My head now officially hurts. Surely now they won't go into cahoots with Nintendo? Or will they? I dunno, looks like the news over the next few weeks could be rather lively though.

That's actually quite possible! I don't think Sega games would come out on the big consoles though like Ganecube and playstation 2 because Sega are in direct competition with those consoles!

DO you remember Sega gnes on the ZX Spectrum?

Or perhaps, more probable, that Sega are just making a few handheld games for the Advance.

Anyone thought of that?

I wouldnt mind if Sega release MSR on PS2, as well as RE Code Veronica and Virtua Tennis, then I wouldnt need to buy a Dreamcast as well(I was going to get one on Saturday)!

I've also read a few articles, stating that Sega are likely to concentrate more on software in the future, which will include developing for other consoles, they no longer see hardware as profitable enough.
The thing is, if they were making weaker conversions of their own games, people wouldn't bother buying them, and Sega wouldn't get this much needed extra revenue. Playstation owners won't switch to the Dreamcast, because Sega's own games are better on it, they simply won't buy Sega games for their Playstations. It would be in Sega's best interests to pt out the best games they can. The money is in the software after all.

I've read various stories over the last few months that stated Sega software will appear on other machines. My only reservation about this would be the potential quality of the software.

For example, just supposing for a moment that Sega were to release MSR on PS2. *IF* they could produce a version that looked and played better, would they actually do so? Or would they tone it down so that it didn't out-perform their own machine?

Please, Dreamcast fans, don't get your knickers in a twist and start pointless replies about "PS2 couldn't do it" etc. I'm not interested in whether it could or not, I'm just asking a hypothetical question.
