well, it has arrived, a cool game has just gotten cooler on PS2, read on.....

(this is taken from OPSM2 July 2002)

REJOICE! THE SIMS has finally made it to PS2, with a full 3D makeover and brand new game modes. You'll still be able to play the regular sims funcions but now there is the option of goal based gameplay!"

(in short)....there is a split screen mode where youy can compete or co-operate with mates. Menus and interface have been adapted cleverly for Dual Shock 2.1/2 a million possible character combinations and PS2 specified furniture (such as the new strip poker table) to add excitment to the sim's virtual lives.

Oh David, David, David.....you do talk out of your @rse.

Max Payne was not one of the games I was talking about. Look at my list. R6, Sims, Theme Park, C&C. They are all strategies of one kind or another. Is Max Payne a strategy game? NO!

These strategy games take loads of keyboard combinations and there just aren't enough buttons on a pad. Nobody wants to be pressing 'X+Y+B+A+L" just to bring up some menu only to then have to press "X+B+R+L" to bring up a seb-menu only to have to......get my point?

Who is the chimp boy now, eh?

The Sims ain't bad. Every now and then I do get an urge to build a house but it won't even run on ym PC anymore. I turn it on, it loads, it gets to the neighbourhood screen and then it cuts back out. I dunno what's wrong with it but I can't say I care all that much.

It'll be crap on the PS2 though, as it will beon all consoles. Games designed for the PC (like Rainbow Six, Sims, Theme Park, C&C, etc) never EVER work on consoles.

The Sims is great for a few days then it gets boring. I played it solidly for 3 days then I never played it again.

Looks crap in 3D, just as theme park world did. The trouble with a 3D perspective is the messing about with the camera to get the best angle or veiw. You spend too much time trying to get the camera into the right position rather than caring what goes on in the game. Probably be boring like the PC version aswell.

I never played the sims but do u always stay in one house or can you look in other houses around the world? Also do u just look after one family or the whole population? Also what is the goal to the game? Thanks.
