We still have 3 months until we can get our hands on the game but Codies have just released a video for you to download and enjoy.
It's 5.4 Mb and the url is

Its a proper simulation racer.

I've never owned any previous CMR titles, but at a guess I'd have to say 'no' - they're far more simulation than arcade racer.

This one shows the damage modelling! Keep an eye out for the wonky wheels.
Unfortunately, it does seem to suffer a little from 'middle wheel' syndrome. :-(

And there he is again! The elusive Mattyboy, popping into the thread, posting a quick one-or-two liner and disappearing before anyone gets to say "Hello!" :-)
I watched a PSW DVD last night which had footage of V-Rally 3, Colin McRae 3 and TOCA Race Driver.
V-Rally 3
I noticed none of the pop-up that one magazine mentioned, although it did appear to suffer "middle-wheel" syndrome - though it wasn't as obvious as on WRC. My mate, work-colleague and occasional forum poster FatButcher has bought it and is going away this weekend... so he's loaning it to be until Monday. :-)
Colin McRae 3
I never bothered with the earlier versions on PS1 because V-Rally 2 was the dogs danglies. However I have to admit, CM3 is looking better than VR3 - even though VR3 looks amazing. I'll probably get it, even if I do get VR3.
TOCA Race Driver
At first glance, this looks amazing. But I did notice a few problems. Things seemed to slow a little with many cars on screen, and there was also what I call "pop-down". This is like clipping, but the effect is that parts of the scenery disappear before they've gone off screen. As the car was racing along, track barriers were okay, but advertising hoardings would suddenly disappear as the reached the edge of the screen. I hope they resolve this before its release in September. Other than that - it was fantastic!
.....back to the game (sorry nh)
I should think so ... Damn spammers ;-)
hopefully with this and

Iv'e never really liked the handling of the V Rally games, too twitchy and unpredictable I suppose, and have thereofre prefered Colin McRae up to now.
Hopefully there will be a demo of V Rally to try somewhere soon.

Cool, we're just going to install a 2mb pipe just for internet use and leave our (new mail server as well, not exchange either...phew) mailserver sat on the 256k line which should be adequate for what traffic is going out.
Got approx 150 users accessing the internet so traffic does get quite bad sometimes.....back to the game (sorry nh) hopefully with this and also V-Rally 3 should be quite an interesting battle for the title of best rally game on the PS2 ;D

We've got a 1Mb link at work, which handles web and some outgoing mail. Most outgoing/all incoming mail comes through a 64k ISDN line from Demon.
The web is comparable to my 512k home connection, because of the number of users. Not too shabby though! :-)
