I have a cutomised Raleigh Chopper. It goes down hills as well as a mountain bike but is not as good at going over bumps, through water, uphill, on rocks and general steering. Having only 3 gears never helps either.

That said my spokkie dokkies are the talk of the town.

About 2/3 months. Had to buy it as my old bike (Ridgeback 705RS) needed work doing, but due to it being 10 years old, couldn't get the parts. And the bottom brackete was corroded and couldn't be removed. Was a great bike though!

The bike itself was £549, but with the few extras I bought (BarEnz, toeclips, lights etc.) it was just over £600.

Am I any good? Well, I can ride it! I use it to get to and from work, so I can't do anything major on it because I can't afford to write it off! Plus I'm not as young as I once was...

I didn't. I've got out of touch with what's what in the mountain bike world - I just don't get the time to keep up with it as I once did.

Mines worth just over £500.

Did you know that the Judy TT's are the same forks that come on the Saracen Recoil?

I've got a Trek 4500 (red/black/gold) with hydraulic disc brakes front & rear, and RockShox Judy TT forks. Off-the-shelf, but a lovely bike.

I used to like going out Mountain Biking when I was younger - and I haven't done it for about 3 years now - and I haven't even been on my bike for 2 years!

I need to get on my bike more, and I do intend to do so this summer.
I've never really been that big a fan, so i've never read magazines or anything like that.

My bike's pretty good, but it's not 'top of the range' or anything like that. My dad got it for me for free 3 years ago, as he helped this guy to advertise his new Mountain Bike shop he'd just opened.

I'm not really bothered about what bike I have, just as long as it looks ok and works well, and is suitable for the conditions.
