It's silly to compare
A life just and fair
To another single world
That was too hard to bare
Because the real strong ones
Are those that admit
What it is to be happy
Not that they want to quit
For I've lived a lie
Talked with a smile
Because I was so troubled
All of this while
Because I was always alright
I had won all my fights
Or so I had you believe
Until one person
Came along
And made me admit
Who I really was
And now the lies are all long gone
Because I was understood
And it felt pretty damn good
Because I can now take your hand
And let you all understand
For the voice of one
Was more loud than a gun
And it shot to my heart
And it tore me apart
For trying to cope
All on my own
Because comfort is no real sign of weakness
It's a kick up the a*se to help cope with the steepness
So don't try and hide from anyone who you really are
Because it'll drive you down to a hole that's too far
For nothing but luck to pull you out from
Because you will need such a powerful song
To make you realise
You were so very wrong
