Hello folks,

Hows this for dedication to the site? I'm typing this in the business lounge of JFK airport, New York.

Yes, that's right, my company finally saw it fit to bestow some trust in me and send me off to organise a large training plan in White Plains, New York.

Of course, what this means is that I get to travel business class on BA, get put up in a first class hotel for a week and get to visit Manhattan and climb the Empire State Building after work (although I took the more sensible route rather than the King Kong way, which involves climbing the building).

The guys and gals at the office were great, they were all so friendly. Strangly, most of them were not 'American', but Indian, Russian and Chinese. Still, I managed to watch England lose the football (sorry, Soccer) at 2.30am this morning, and I guess I'll have to catch up with my sleep on the 7 hour flight home. If they show films like they did on the way here, though, I may be tempted to watch TV all night!

I can't believe the week has gone so fast though, I only found out I was going last thursday and already it's all over. Damn.

What was I doing? Training on a new system which we are bringing back to the UK, so I can then train everyone else how to use it.

I also did a pop quiz of what consoles everyone owned. Most adults, it seems, have already been hypnotised by Bill Gates in the US. The more people I spoke to from the office, the more I realised that the Xbox was the only console they thought was any good (even though many had not played any of the consoles, including the Xbox!).

The main person I was training with owned a Gamecube, but traded it in for the Xbox. Mind you, he was Russian but it looks like most people who stay out there too long become 'Americanised'

Me? Nah. I probably wouldn't be able to work out there for long because I'd refuse American citizenship on the basis of having to recite that stupid oath to the American flag.

Nice to be back though, at least I get a little time on the forums here before work starts tomorrow!

We'll have to see about his ludicrous political views and general view with foreingers and money!
