I am hoping that the Xbox version of Phantasy Star Online will be hacker proof. MS are investing a lot of money into the Xbox Live service and it will be super secure. Communications between servers will be encrypted with as password being required to log onto the Xbox Live system. Although hacking the Xbox is possible, it sure isn't going to be as easy as just sticking an Xploder disc into your Xbox. All save game files are encypted so you'll need to get past that. To run a unsigned disc you will need a mod chip which cost in the reagon of $100 plus soldering 30 points onto your Xbox (although a chip with only 12 solder points has been developde now). If you do get past all of that then you have Xbox Live's server security to consider. Xbox PSO won't be on Sega's servers, it'll be on msfts. This will most likely but updated at even a hint of anyone bypassing them. MS can afford to monitor the Xbox Live service 24/7.
I personally am all for a cheat free PSO. I do however know people who would be upset at such a thought (mostly my friends who have a PSO clan). Do you feel hacking actually adds anything worthwhile to the game? In my opinion, absolutley not. Hacking has virtually ruined PSO and it has made it dangerous to hang around in lobbies and play in open games. It has also ruined any sense of acheivement and recognition players get from finding/earning rare equipment as about a million other players are using the same item which they obtained using their "skils". In fact, I don't even know how many of my items which I recieved from other players are hacked and also makes me question any player with a high level. So, to sum it up, hacking has ruined of of the greatest games of all time. Morons.
The other interesting thing is voice communication. This will be quite a lot different to chatting via keyboard. I wonder if it'll change the way people behave towards each other. With the Xbox Communicator you can just choose to mute annoying people. I think it will be quite good for helping shy people communicate more. You won't have much choice unless you just ignore everyone.
Any thoughts on this?

Whose to say that he's not getting the Gamecube version! :-P
We'll have to set up some sort of SR Team, if we can. It would be nice if the Xbox version could handle more than 4 players per team, that way all of us could get involved.

Looks like I can play it then. :-D
