As you know EA secured the licensing rights to the Harry Potter games from JK Rowling's publishers (at great expense.) My mole at EA sent me a tape of a boardroom meeting held recently at the games developer's HQ, here's the transcript:

Tod> So then, 'Harry', that's got more letters than 'John'.
Rick> Yep, we are going to have to do a major redesign of the Madden packaging for this one, could get expensive.
Tod> How about 'Harry NHL'? or 'Harry Packs a Pukka Puck'?
Rick> Dunno, think the gaming public will notice it's the same game?
Tod> Nah, we've got away for it for 5 years, what's another 12 months?
Rick> Nope, we've done the hockey thing to death, we need something original here. What about Quidditch?
Tod> ?
Rick> It's that game he plays in the book, with broomsticks and stuff, they fly around trying to catch this little golden ball, and it gets quite rough at times, quite radical really!
Tod> Hey, that sounds like Madden NFL! You think she pinched the idea from one of our games?
Rick> Maybe, but looks like we are back to a major reworking of some of our code for that game.
Tod> Why not just change one of the player's names to Harry?
Rick> Gosh! I think you've cracked it buddy! Think your secretary could organise that in time for the Christmas sales?
Tod> I'm on it, and while I'm at it we'll get some post-it notes to stick on the front cover to hide the 'John Madden' graphic!

End of tape.

Hello! Welcome to Chat the Heroics, our official message board! Leave a message and get some chat going! There isn't much to discuss at the moment, but let us know what you think anyways!

Are you loving the site? Are you hating it? What should we change? Want to talk about games? Go ahead! There is no rules. But since there is no swear filter, please don't abuse it! Please keep it as family friendly as possible. :)
