I'll be pre-ordering this. I only saw the last few episodes, so I'm looking forward to seeing the earlier ones.
Anyway, yeah I've known about the release date for a while now and I'll certainly be buying it. Red Dwarf Series 1 is out in November too.
He goes for minimilist string-type stuff.
Not bad if that's your thing
"give a celeb, though I use the term loosely in Jas-man's case, even a 1cm piece of weak string and they'll hang themself."
"correct"
"Have you actually sing them all?"
"Oh definitely.. the whole album.. my record.."
"No, but I mean all the notes.. all the notes there are, there's A to G isn't there?"
*mumbles* "Oh yeah.. yeah.. I.. yeah.. it's quite difficult to work out what note you're singing."
"But you've never sung, like, an H?"
"Probably not, no I wouldn't have thought so."
"If that is the case then what is your song, is that like an audible sound or just like a little bubble of oxygen?"
"I think it could become.. err.. a figment of people's imagination"
"So let's look at this song.. you write the lyrics, who does the words?"
"I do myself"
"You as well.. d'you think you'll ever write a spherical song?"
"Um.. I don't know really.."
"Has Michael Nyman?"
"I think he's getting close.."
"As he gets older or in his earlier work?"
"I think so. Definitely as he gets older."
"I've got to ask a question, are you a genius?"
"I'd say I'll become a genius"
"So maybe, just maybe, you were born with a few more genes than the rest of us?"
"Yeah maybe"
:-)
give a celeb, though I lose the term loosely in Jas-man's case, even a 1cm piece of weak string and he'll hand himself.
"A nonce is trying to touch your bird, what would that be?"
"Oh no, he'd suffer for that"
"Do you think you were born experienced?"
"Yeah..yeah definately"

And the commentary by the junkie homeless dudes on the "Drugs" episode is one of the best commentaries ever.

Cheers, I've e-mailed the BBCshop first to see if they're planning a DVD release, but I'll probably just get them on VHS, particularly as getting info out of the BBC is like trying to squeeze blood from a stone.
On a side note, the highlight of the DVD for me was definitely the idiot Brummie from Babylon Zoo being interviewed by Morris. It's not just that Morris is more intelligent than him, but that celebrities seem to have a complete inability to admit they don't know what someone or something means... put them in front of a camera and they'll yap away quite happily even if it's complete gibberish. Appearing on a show called zeit-guest.. they'll never learn. And the clockwork-orangisms are brilliant as well, "quadraspazzed on a life glug". genius.
