The official release date for region 1 is December 17th 2002.

It will be released as a box-set with over 10 hours of extra features spread over the 3 films.

Commentaries from Robert Zemeckis along with Bob Gale for the three films. Also Michael J. Fox has done his as well.

There will be documentaries aplenty and also lots of deleted scenes etc..

Seems quite pointless to me if Region 4 discs work on Region 2 players. May as well make Australia Region 2 IMO.

So why does region 4 exist then?

region 4 should play on your dvd player if its multi-regional or not because of the fact that region 2 and region 4 are basically the same as they are both PAL format discs.
