Shortages biting hard?
Further to yesterday's story, FGN Online are reporting there's even more for Sony to cry into their beers about.
They've received reports from numerous readers that new stock of PlayStation 2 consoles won't be arriving until January at the earliest and possibly not until next March. This is a particularly bitter blow for those who've paid in full for a PS2 but haven't actually got one.
It's not the store's taking their best guess either, according to those who've been enquiring when they'd be able to get their hands on the console, the stores had said they'd been told by Sony they wouldn't be receiving any until nest year.
It's not just new consumers who'll be left waiting either - those with faulty consoles will face a potential five month wait for a replacement as theer's no stock to replace them with. Stores were said to be suggesting refunds to customers with faulty units.
Things originally looked bad back in when Sony halved the initial allocation of PlayStation 2's. Back then however, they'd said they were still going to be shipping 1.3 million consoles in two months and 3 million units by the end of the financial year. FGN Online's report would suggest otherwise.
On a more positive note, not everyone is having a hard time get their hands on the uber-console. New Hampshire and Massachusetts were both reported as having regular shipments and expected them throughout November.
