The crowd's all chanting the same old thing
what's on tv
the new song to sing
everyones at it
everyone knows
to fit in with the rest
we wear the same clothes
the same old smile
the same old frown
because we're always fine
we'll cry to no one
so lets go camping
outside with mates
drink till the sunrise
drink till it's late
because we're hiding away
clawing the days
because I'm losing my will
the will to hang on
because I just want to hide
push it aside
because my true soulmate
lies far behind the gate
and we both wait
for the clouds to clear
no need to hate
no need for fear
but the pain is still there
every second of the day
when I keep away
so maybe I'll drink
and maybe I'll smoke
to bring peace to my mind
so the voices are kind
and leave me alone
and not talk on the phone
so I can be happy myself
all on my own
so when I get the call
that you're not there at all
that you WERE never there
then it'll be easy to bare
because I'll just have my drink
I won't have to think
and I can watch the football
with my back against the wall
