Steve, who has in the past tangled with the world's most dangerous animals, searching out highly venomous snakes, and taking on the worlds biggest crocodiles sees Leeds United as his biggest challenge yet.
"Croc's are nothing compared to this" said Steve "What could be more dangerous than getting in a room with such viscious creatures as Lee Bowyer, Danny Mills, Jonathan Woodgate, and the rest of the thugs that David O'Leary has there?
The thing about animals, is that they're pretty predictable, they're just looking after themsleves, will attack for food, or when they're in danger. The Leeds United squad is quite different, they could jump you at any time, even if you're supposed to be on their team! What's worse is that they come across as calm as you like, then they just snap, fly at you with both feet, or nut you!"
It does seem that Steve is really relishing the challenge of getting in amongst such creatures, but again, I do fear for him. It's not just the situations that he places himself in, he does like to antagonise the creatures he tangles with, and I fear that with O'Leary's young team Irwin may well have met his match.
It's sure to be an interesting season at Leeds.
You were watching his show on ITV on Saturday too, weren't you!
