Besides, I think the time limit comes close to ruining the game.
In 17 days I've found 22 pieces (when you're organised and know what you're doing, it's easy to go ahead of schedule).
I would've finished it by now but my mum took it away from me on Sunday because I need to concentrate on my last exams! :-(
For my own good I suppose.

I've not used a guide, but this game is still way too short.
And even though I didn't work out how to kill the beetle, I managed to steal the spaceship part by creating a distraction in the opposite direction while my Pikmin carried the part away.
And Captain Olimar then put about the "air hole" in his days log.
The game normally directs you if you're stuck.

err... I didn't use any tips or anything, and it took me about 30 seconds to realise I had to throw Pikmin at the nose...
And Pikmin may be short, but I think I'll play it at least a few times through to master my technique.
