I had heard reports that some people have received their collection letter. I phoned SCEE head office to enquire, and was told that more information had been released through the Playstation helpline, so i phoned them. They confirmed that it was true, the collection letters had started to go out, but the company handling the mailing had been closed due to the weather conditions. Also there was a problem with their system, but it would be sorted by the begining of the week.

They also confirmed that each retailer has a certain amount of PS2's allocated for launch day, and if you are in the first few pre-orders (depending on the amount that store has allocated) it is almost a guarantee of you getting one on launch day.

When i asked about the PS2's that seem to be popping up all over the net at the moment, they told me to treat them with caution. As far as they (Sony) are concerned, the first wave of PS2's sold out weeks ago, though they do admit that lots of people tried to pre-order more than one, so had their pre-orders cancelled.

Who would come out on top if we had a competition to 'score' a goal from the centre spot with 5 shots? With the first to miss dropping out.

They just said that most people will know by the end of next week.

Remember though, we have been given information by the PSX Helpline before, and it has not been entirely accurate. Please don't take everything for 100% accurate, just 95% at this time. (I'm still a sceptic a times)

As with all other info i post, i will not be held responsible if the information turns out to be false.

I just tell it as i hear it.
