... or something along those lines...

Well, Mario CAN ride yoshi in Mazza Sunshine. So... are we going to see the all new 3D version of Super Mario World, possibly the finest 2D platformer ever? (I said possibly, no "Sonic was better" arguments here... actually, they might be quite interesting...) Well, it looks very promising, with some of the best features of Mario's only platforming adventure on N64, and some of the best from his Mario World title on the SNES along with some innovative new features (The water backpack, remember...?)

So, I wonder if all Yoshi related features will be back in full form...? Will we be eating enemies and spitting out shells, fireballs, and perhaps even laying eggs that can be hatched into cute little yoshi kids, or if you're feeling violent, launched at the nearest enemy for some scrambled egg action.

I'm hoping some (maybe all!) of those Yoshi features will be included, it would definitely make for a better game with more Yoshi antics... C'mon, you all love that green dinosaur really don't you? And another good point for the new Mario, it is looking more convincing all the time. The last bundle of shots I must admit did not hugely impress me, these look much better, and, okay the graphics aren't exactly groundbreaking, they have Mario written all over them.

Still, I am a little worried at the length of the game. I'm positive they're not going to have another game as short as Luigi's Mansion, but I still feel it needs to be a title that will last a fair while so you can get your teeth into it good and proper...

PS. advance apologies if you thought I was posting on some obscure cowboy related game, purely for your entertainment, here is something I hope will ease your pain...

Well, if NOM are right (for once :D) Mazza should be as long as Mario 64, which would be very very nice! And Zelda looks to be shaping up nicely too with some areas and features which relate back to other games (the thing about the boat rapids and paying a man to ride the boat and collect rupees was seen in Links Awakening on Game Boy, and enemies look like those pig things (Moblins or something...?) which have featured in a number of Zelda titles I believe.

Wario looks to be pretty good for me, looks like it's mixing platformer elements with some cool arcadey style fighting, from what I have read it sounded like you could pick up enemies and spin and throw them at other enemies...? Sounds like one of those classic Streets Of Rage style beat em ups in an arcade, but with Wario and Platforming and treasure hunting thrown in! Sounds good to me!

I think that if Nintendo have any sense then they will make Mario longer than Luigi's Mansion.
I think that Wario World is their next short game, in the style of Pikmin and Luigi's Mansion.

That sounds great if it is a 3D Mario game with Mario World-like features. I'd also like to see the power-ups like Fire Flowers and Stars in this game, and I was both shocked and dissapointed when I realised they weren't gunna be in Mario 64!

They all deserve to be in A 3D Mario adventure anyway!

It could also be quite Mario Land 2-esque, with Wario and all.

A brief version of the story:

An imitation of Mario (bit like Shadow in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle) has gone to the same place as Mario to try and ruin his 'vacation' by covering everything in brown sludge. Mario's job is to remove that sludge so he can enjoy his vacation.

The hover moves are in the game, as is riding Yoshi (to what extent that effects the game yet is unknown due to only one shot released). But the cannon is primarily a cleaning machine. According to Nintendo Official Magazine (yes I know NGC is better and that's why I subscribe to it), they've been told the game is just as big as Super Mario 64 was.

Yeah, the eggs is probably a long shot, but not out of the realms of possibility, a lot of Snes Mario features are being included like those rotating chain link fences (hopefully with the koopas on either side for some chain link punching action!) and maybe we'll see some classic powerups (starmen, fire flowers, mushrooms, etc.) reappearing for this Mario... I dunno, there looks to be a fair amount of winks back to the Snes era of Mario, so we could see just about anything included here...

Also, it said in NGC that the water squirter could be used to hover for a short time, or to shoot while jumping to stop yourself overshooting... could it therefore be fired backwards while jumping to give a longer jump, or just fired backwards while running to make Mazza run faster...? Intriguing possibilities I think...

Yay! I saw the pics in NGC magazine. Go Yoshi!

Did you also notice Mario without the squirt gun contraption on his back? Maybe Mario does a little old school without lugging that thing around.

Then again that pic looks like some sort of an options screen to me.

Damn. I was expecting some obscure Cowboy thing.

Anyway, i'm glad to see that you will be able to ride Yoshi in Mario Sunshine, and I think it's only natural that you will be able to eat and spit out enemies - just like in Mario World.

I don't know about laying Eggs though - although that's a great idea.
Imagine having a team of multi-coloured Yoshi's by your side as you march on towards Wario!! :D
