"Beginners Look at the xbox"

Hello there I am writing this post to tell you about a couple of things to better your understanding of the xbox console from microsoft. I will talk about who microsoft are, what consoles are and how they started, what the xbox experience is and how it will benifit you, the gamer.

First lets look at the history of who microsoft are. Well microsoft entered the electronics market in appoximetly 1985 when the released software that would organise your files and important documents etc which was ideal for businesses and in the years to follow the home user for the personal computer.

Consoles came about from the idea of not paying through your teeth for each go of an arcade machine to last about 5 minutes. Some very clever person said or thought, (I dont know really) That it would be cheaper and more enjoyable if you could play the games you love in the comfort of you own home so the first console was produced (Sorry folks I dont know the name of it but I am sure a notable could name one)

Well technology has advanced and advanced and gaming has finially become cool, but those who love games and are hardcore gamers didn't care if it was cool or not anyways :). The console that has made gaming cool is the sony's Playstation which was released in 94/95. With games like GTA and tomb raider and Metal Gear Solid it was the console to be with.

Well Sony have released there follow up to the playstation with the very original Playstation 2 (Oh the sarcasm) This was entering a new era of consoles become much more than just a console more like a entertainment centre.

Well that looked like the natural progression until the nintendo gamecube came along and asked for just gamers to buy their console. This progression continued with microsoft's first entry into the console market. The Xbox this console wanted to offer everyone a little something movie goers a dvd playback facility online gamers for a pc background with the broadband connection and home based battles with 4 controller ports.

The xbox has tried and tried to be perfect but was marred by a quite plagued launch the price was too expensive the markets price range had moved on and microsoft has had to drop the price of the console by a whopping £100 but I am confident that the console with reign supreme eventually.


Sorry about some inaccruraces in this post this was what I wrote basically in my english paper 3 exam for GCSE so I hope you all like it :)

It was a magazine article to write about something you know about and I know about gaming so I wrote about it :)

I dont understand what do you have to do for the english exam? How did you write about consoles? DOnt you have to write about something they say?? Can someone expalain?

Yeah. Good post, although it seems to be more of a "history of consoles" rather than a "beginners look at the Xbox" :D

And thank god that clever bloke did think of home gaming. I never play on arcade machines, as they are overpriced. Sure, they can be fun, but I never really feel like I've got my moneys worth.

I find reviews easier to win GAD. I tried many times to speak from my mind, and write topics, but I never won for it. I guess it's just not my thing.

That what was going through my head as its on my exam paper near enough and I thought after it I could try and win a GAD with that lol

I guess the weird trick is not to try. :-) Just post stuff that has been going through your head about a console, or games, etc and oneday you might get a nice surprise. :-)

Nah, its just that ive only done 2 papers and I didnt think that there was 3 papers.

Nah Hercules, I did 3 English papers, Ok so 2 of them were Language (don't know if that's what you meant), but it still ads up I guess. That paper was a real *female dog in the backside. I'd planned on A's or A*'s in the English exams, but no! They had to make me write about things I've learnt about friends from playing games at school. Stupid Edexcel. Good for nothing. If I don't get at least one 'A' grade in English, I'm blaming it all on them.

Any GCSE's students doing higher tier sciences? Just out of interest :)
