It now just disables the mouse and I cannot move the cursor anywhere. But the rest of the PC seems to be running fine.
I noticed though, by having one of those optic mice which light up at the bottom, that it has turned itself off. I can see this as the light has gone out but it is plugged in ok as I checked it and when I restart the PC it just goes back to normal.
It froze up just now whilst I was starting a new game of Championship Manager and that is why I am angry as it was going to be good.
I tryed disabling other programs which may be the problem by the simple ctrl-alt-delete sequence but that doesn't work.
How can I stop this quite annoying problem?!?
Thanks,
MWA
I've installed a new driver, I'll see how it goes from here...
Start Menu > Run > msconfig (tab at top) Startup
Uncheck everything except for the C:\Windows\ files and:
mstask.exe
systray.exe
loadqm.exe
that should stop it from crashing so often, you've probably got loads of files in there which take up all your precious RAM
the mouse is probably using outdated drivers, are you running WinXP or something? maybe the mousedrivers were only meant for Win98-2k or something or maybe it needs a clean? do optical mice need cleaning? :)
