What an incredible servant Rio Ferdinand has been for his country in the World Cup so-far this year - and we've still only JUST passed the Group Stages!! What more could there be to come from this on-song centre back!???

For one thing - a £multi-million transfer to one of several top European clubs could be on the cards for the Leeds defender tagged 'Hot Property'.
Leeds boss David O'Leary alone has come forward to show his praise for Rio and comment numorous times on what a bargain deal he got for ONLY £18m!

Leeds obviously won't be looking to sell - and never will!
But with the right amount of money and the right club showing interest, would Mr.O'Leary ever be willing to sell his no.1 defender????

Several clubs from around Europe have already shown a keen interest in Ferdinand's services in the last few weeks, aswell as during the last 4 or 5 years. Manchester United seem to be the Premiership's favourites as they seem keen to offer £20m at least. They're also in dyer need of a new centre back at Old Trafford, and Fergie sees the young Ferdiand as his ideal signing to fill that vacant space.
Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and one or two other majo European clubs have also shown how keen they are to sign him - and it seems they're willing to pay almost any amount on money.
That could help Leeds to decide to sell the star-man, and they're also more likely to sell abroad rather than to a big-name in their own league.

We've all seen Rio's form in the World Cup so-far this year - he's certainly proven that he can hold it all together at the back - even when we're falling behind by quite a margin!
It was said that he was worth a whopping £20m after the Sweden game, but surely that price-tag has vastly risen twice more with the last 2 games - as he's improved and impressed.

It's said that he went upto £30m after the Argentina win, and an Luis Figo-like £40m after the Nigeria draw! Would any team honestly be willing to pay that???? How much will he be worth after tommorow - or even the final itself!! You simply cannot put a price-tag on this young man!

What about Arsenal as potenital bidders??
I see him as their ideal signing to fill the vacant gaps left by Tony Adams alone. And what's more, Sol Campbell is also at Highbury too. And along with Ashley Cole, you have 3 of England's succesfull back four in your own back yard - any manager would be happy with that!
Look at the wanders the England midfield does for us in the big international matches. 3 of those 4 players play together week-in week-out for Man United - and they know each other like best friends.
Owen and Heskey, or Owen and Fowler. Either way, there's a Liverpool lin there. And no matter which of the 2 strikers Owen plays with, the goals always seem to fly in frequently!

Just think about how complete the England back-line could be with Seaman added in goal.... we'd be unstoppable!!

So there you have it, the ideal place for Ferdinand to go if he's going anwhere. At this moment in time, there isn't much more he can learn to improve his game - except learn French for the Arsenal attack!
Not only would this help Arsenal but it would help Rio and the future of English football altogether!

If he goes to United then he'll only be playing with the Neville brothers in the Old Trafford back-line - and it'd be even worse abroad.

So, what do you think on this matter??
Shouls he stay or should he go??? And where and why should he go??
Is he really worth all that money??? What about more!

Unfortunately, there has been no talk of a Highbury-switch for the Leeds man. Damn Arséne Wenger - when will you wake up and buy more Brittish!!

But at the moment it seems that Man Utd have signed nearly every defender available.

I think that O'Leary may sell him at about £30million+ as they are in debt as well.

It seems pretty likely that Man Utd will sign him. Well, according to the papers anyway...

I too hope that United do complete a deal for him - whatever the price really! I think that he'd be out of Arsenal's price-range for an Englishman - but not if he was French!

But he may decide by himself that he wants to play abroad in order to improve his game. Who knows what's going on in his mind - though it's probably not Kirsty Gallagher anymore!

Chances are he'll go to Man Utd. Fergie has been given plenty of funds to play around with this summer, and Ferdinand is at the top of his list. Utd have had an interest for a while now, but since the world cup several other European clubs have shown an interest. AC Milan is one name which springs to mind.

O' Leary won't have any choice in whether Ferdinand is sold, once the money gets high enough. He's mentioned that already.

Wonder if Leeds would swap him for Veron... :)

He looks to be one of the best defenders in the World Cup.

Will be worth every penny.

I cant see Arsenal bidding for him though, surely out of thier price range? I mean, they are gonna be using up alot of thier cash on thier new staduim of thiers and they dont really get the revenue needed for these big money deals from thier small stadium.

Suppose they could sell Vieria though...

Depending upon which paper you read, Rio has already signed for about 3 different clubs :)

I think today he was linked with a £35M to Man Utd again in the sun today..

Bloody hell...Portugal just hit the post...
