5 days now since you decided his future for him
5 days now since he slept.
You sat opposite him and delivered your decision in neautral tones as he sat there and tried not to vomit.
In 10 mins you undid 2 years of support and love and all the things
That he used to laugh at

He had seen other people hand in hand and smiled with indulgence
At them
He read about it in books and presumed everyone else thought it was a
Lie
And then you came into his world and showed him the truth
Made him feel special and strong
Told him the things he had always wanted to hear from someone
You did things nobody else would think mattered
Filled your house with balloons on his birthday for when he came over
Made him a meal without him asking or knowing

The idea that you liked me simply because he was him
Was alien and perfect
He never expected it to happen
But he never questioned it either
Those times spent together made everything else
Seem like a rehearsal
At first he looked at the ground and mumbled to you
But in time he learned to speak without fear and tell you
The things he felt and the things you had never heard before

He offered you support and unhesitating unconditional love
He would have burned the heavens had you asked
The times he spent with you were like breaths of oxygen
In a filthy, dirty world
And you returned the same
All powerful
All knowing
Unbeatable

So when you took that away
He really noticed
But even then The Nowhere Man was good
He took your feelings into consideration
And was nice about it
Despite the fact he died everytime you phoned him

He ignored the times you made him feel wrong
For simply being himself
The times he apologised for not doing anything wrong
Just because it would make things good again
He listened to how it was his fault
That you didn't like his outlook
His fault that you couldn't listen to him be himself
His fault that you didn't accept him as he accepted you
Without question

And then it hit him
He accepted your faults simply because he knew
It was worth it in the end
Little differences to be sorted out and dealt with
To allow for 2 people to fit together and take on the world
But when you decided there wasn't to be anymore mornings
Or evening together
Then he realised he didn't have to accept that everything
Was his fault
And he told you that

And you didn't like that one little bit
You were shocked that he told you exactly how he felt now
He didn't have a future to work towards
You couldn't understand that he was offended that you fell asleep
When he was talking to you on the phone
You told him you were tired
Well so was he
But you refused to see that he was upset you fell asleep during these most important moments of trying to fix things

If there ever was a glimmer of hope in his heart
That this could be alright
Then you falling asleep slapped that out of him
Not because you slept
But because you told him he had no right to be upset about it

Blameless
Shameless

Well The Nowhere Man had swallowed his last meal of self-doubt
And baseless shame
He stood right up on his legs and told you exactly what he felt
Without worring about upsetting or offending you anymore

And at that moment, with you getting angry because he was telling you how he felt?
The future died between you and him
It was replaced with the knowledge of just much he had let you get away
With
How many times he had accepted blame for you being too wrapped in your world to care

The Nowhere Man took his first breath by himself
And it was sweeter than anything you could have provided
He couldn't believe he had been so stupid to believe it

But no more
He got out with his mind intact and his heart attacked
No worry though
Because here comes the music to save the day

The Nowhere Man & Noplace Woman parted company
And trust me, it's better that way.

Not much I can really say, but feel like saying something. If you feel you can't say what you think, or be yourself, then, honestly, you will be better off.

It'll just take time to sort through all the crap that's left over.

I love the way you are able to throw your emotions out for the world to see Goatboy.

Well written and it's all there. Get a few beers down your neck this weekend and try and show a little bit of enthusiasm for the game tomorrow.
