I dont like reporting problems with the PS2 considering I should get one in little over three weeks time, but this has to be told. Apparantly, people have had to return PS2 in America that could not read DVD games or movies, and there were instances that whole batches of PS2's were going missing, mysteriously appearing later on EBay. If you want the whole story, go to www.gameplay.com. It doesnt make good reading and coupled with the fact that due to Sony there is now a worldwide hardware shortage, specifically the graphics synthesiser which works with the Emotion engine to run hi spec graphics, it does look really good for us, but hey, Im still optimistic and i want one now!!!

Lets hope that due to us having to wait longer, and with the UK being a smaller market, they will have taken just a bit more time with the inspection of our machines.

If these problems that occured over the Atlantic begin to happen in Europe, Sony could start to see their customers lose faith, and in the current climate of battling for supremacy, they can ill-afford to let that happen.

I'm sure heads will roll in SCEI headquarters if this starts to get out of hand. :~<

I totally agree Matt, I hope that my PS2 wont blow up the day I get it, Id be really peed off! I cant wait for it to arrive, but to be honest I would rather wait in the sake of quality than have them be rushed out for the sake of getting on one release day that may not work... But I dont mind at all if I get one on November 24th anyway.

I am as desperate as anyone else to get my hands on my PS2. I preordered in March and filled in the official form early on the morning of the 7th Sept BUT I would much rather see a delay than receive a dodgy system.

If I get mine home and then have problems with it I will flip out and my faith in Sony will be seriously dented. I really hope that there are no problems with our systems (whenever they arrive). After the rollercoaster ride that we have had so far I dont think I could take it if my system was buggy!!!

Now come on you can't win everytime, if there's a delay, there's a delay, live with it. But Sony is Sony so don't expect any changes from them about it, that's why it's out in America already!

Just been to that site myself, not a good sign for our allies accross the water.

There will probably be no problems for us, (at least until after launch!) but i think that anyone who hasn't pre-ordered yet (or pre-ordered late) could see some problems in delivery.

I hope that i am not speaking out of turn, but i don't think we will see the same problems that the Americans have seen with PS2's going missing. Mainly thanks to our pre-order system.

Maybe the pre-order system wasn't such a bad idea after all...........................

Before anyone starts saying it's just rumours, the story was taken from the FGN site, a very respected news site on the web.

It also goes on to say that Playstation 2 production will now be slowed, to make sure no more "bad apples" get loose.

So be prepared for a delay. There probably won't be one, but be ready for an impact.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
