Another excellent performance by Rio Fedinand. Not a single mistake made, and countless vital challenges made. Today's performance was possibly the best defensive performance I've ever seen a player give. Top marks to him.

Certainly doing well for himself in this world cup. Man Utd were after him prior to it starting, and since then his performances have shown him to be arguably the most in form central defender at the world cup. Now also linked with a move to AC Milan, and naturally the money starts to get ridiculous...

£40 million? Where on Earth did that figure come from? No defender has ever come close to fetching that much, yet it's been in various news articles for a few days now. Leeds would be mad not to sell that sort of price.

At only 23 he has a good ten years of his career left in front of him. Hopefully he'll spend it at Man Utd :)
Though Ferguson had the oppertunity to buy him a couple of years ago, but didn't seem too interested. So much for his "Good judge of ability" eh?

(That's the same "Good judge of ability" that spotted Taibi, Forlan, Blomqvist, Veron, Cruyff...)

Same here.

Did anybody hear that the story was 'Rio off to Milan'...and so one paper broke the exclusive story of him leaving for AC, and another gave us the exclusive detailing his imminent switch to Inter! Haha!

Diego Forlan is a very good player.
Jesper Blomqvist was as well - but never gelled into the team, mostly because he played the same position as Giggs...
Cruyff was another good player that never gelled, same with Veron.

All quality players, but not necessarilly capable of adapting to the Man U game...

Arsenal are my local team.

I live in Northampton now, but I was born in Hackney, London, and lived there for the first 16 years of my life.

Hackney, if you don't know, is just a short bus ride from Islington, and Arsenal.

Rio won't go for £40m unless Real Madrid suddenly decide they want him. Man U will offer £25m and Leeds have suggested that they may sell for that. It is a much better purchase than Veron, that's for sure.
