does anyone know if i can fit an intel celeron 900MHz into a packard bell PB 9367 which currently has a celeron 366MHz processor in it and has a Intel i810-L motherboard chipset which can run upto 100Mhz FSB

No sorry the motherboard needs changing as the pin outs on the chip are differant and won't run with a newer chip in.

is it really nessacery to change the motherboard to upgrade the processor
or can i get a converter to plug into the PCI or processor socket

I doubt it mate as the celerons changed the pin arrahgments on the later chips i think 533 and obove (i could be wrong) but for and extra £50 you can buy a new motherboard which is compatible and maybe also compatible with the new celeron tualitin core.
