It was hardly an arrogant assumption that england would win the group. It was well within our grasp, but for reasons I will never understand, the team played for a pitiful draw, and got it.
Me??? I never thought England would win the group - infact I only thought we'd come 3rd at the highest due to the pre-tournament injury problems!
But I did think we were gunna beat Nigeria, so I was wrong there.
I never thought we'd beat the Argies - wrong again!
But I though a draw would be a fair result against Sweden.
So in other words, this World Cup has turned out better than I thought it would be for England!

Very arrogant you assumed England would win their group and assumed wrong. See my world cup predictions for my view.

And I doubt that we'll even reach the semi's, unless a miracle happens!!

-Argentina lost 1-0 to us
-Our second game was reffed by an Italian
-France were knocked out in the Group Stages
... and I think there were one or two more?
It was on RI:SE anyway - and for some reason Helen Chamberlain was on there!?
And I doubt that we'll even reach the semi's, unless a miracle happens!!

If England get to the semi-finals we have done a fantastic job. Should we meet Ireland in the final then both teams have done one unbelieveable job.
