Don't you just hate the way they are so damn good!?
It's harder for humans becuse you waste valuble (sp?) miliseconds finding the right buttons, and in many games combos. They also know the level inside out.
Take a shooter for example, the bots always get you on the head dead on.
This can be seen in Perfect Dark.
Ah, but you can tone down the difficulty, can't you? I find that it's either too hard, or too easiy. Example: Super Smash Bros Melee; level 4 (9 being the hardest) that walk straight into you smash attacks.
Bots have a long way to go before they reach human like realism, many a time do they get stuck on walls (like in Quake 3) and just run on the spot. When they finally adapt to your personal behaviour and become almost human then that will be real fun, yet it will never beat the fun of taking out a human mate. Especially if they are right next to you, such as the jeers and such which you can never get so enthusiastic over a bot.
Thats the appeal of online gaming, the sheer thrill of beating another fellow human being at a game of skill, maybe it goes back to a primal instinct. Either way I know for a fact that beating the hardest computer player is nothing compared to beating a human (i.e. your brother...).
