Many of the games that I have watched in the world cup so far have been very entertaining, but I am getting confused; why are top players such as Totti, Rivaldo, and many other world class players have been hitting a lot of their shots far to high.
Is this because the balls are too light? Alan Hanson stated:
>The new world cup balls highly technological, and you do not need to put as much effort into kicking them.
Is this true? If so it would explain why players have missing the target completely, however I have also noticed that the players have been leaning back a lot; this would also have a great effect on the direction of the ball.
I think that because Japan are such technological country they have developed a ball that is so advanced that no one can strike it with great accuracy; hopefully in Germany 2006 the Germans will not have developed such a technological wonder.
The players don't seem to have got to grips with them as yet.
One thing I have noticed is that we have had quite a few goals already that the keepers have got quite a good touch to, but have still gone in.
They tend to bounce quite high as well.
Juts before they scored the equalising free kick, the whistle was blown RIGHT BEFORE this one guy struck an incredible effort right into the top-right-hand corner!! The keeper had no chance!!!
Just a shame that the whistle had already gone for the foul. :(
That would've been 'Goal of the Tournament'!!
I was laughing at the time when I heard that crowd as it had gone in!
It's just something you don't see every day in the live football.
Oh, and ask Afro Joe about the World Cup balls. Apparently he's got one - and not a replica!
Its not as if we have had a shortage of goals though...
A very good ball in my opinion.
