Lord Badger had woke up early the next morning, he had been restless, thinking about many troubles he had. Finally, he couldn’t stand it anymore and got up for a walk in the village. It was a cold, dark morning and he could still see stars in the bluey-red sky. He walked around, thinking deeply and looking into people’s homes through their windows, no lights were on…apart from one, it was a dim light, looked like a candle which had been burning for a long time. Inside, Lord Badger could see a young man, with a sword that shone in a blinding way, and, when you looked carefully, you could see blood of many warriors past. The man was practicing sword skills, it looked more like he was dancing with the sword only being an accessory. Lord Badger watched in awe as he swung the sword around his head and gently pushed it into a mattress, then, the youth pulled away from it and put out the candle.
‘Amazing,’ Lord Badger murmured, ‘hey, maybe he could help us a bit. He looks like he’s done quite a few battles.’ So slowly he walked up to the door and knocked hard on the dampened wood.
A boy, middle-ish height with brown hair, answered the door. He looked like he was tired and weary from some sort of journey.
‘Hello, what do you want, I’m too tired to talk. Please go away, I need some rest.’ He muttered through yawns.
‘Oh, hi, I am Lord Badger. I could let you have a rest in my inn room if you do something for me. Would you mind?’ he replied.
‘Well, I suppose I could do with some sleep. What is it you need? Oh, and I’m Sir Chipsalot. Knight of the royal palace, I’ve just returned home from the palace because school has started again. Groan, it’ll be so much fun.’ The lad answered, the last bit sounded like he was being sarcastic.
Lord Badger just nodded and led him back into the inn and let him in his room so he could rest.
Lord Badger went back outside, it was lighter and there was no human activity, only the birds singing could be heard. Lord Badger sat down on a brick wall, the top was covered in moss and dew still trickled off the moss. He closed his eyes and breathed in the fresh, morning air, it was refreshing and it calmed him down. Then laughing broke the cool, calming atmosphere and Lord Badger saw two familiar figures walking out of the inn. He smiled and shouted,
‘Ahhhh, hello, lovely morning isn’t it?’
‘Oh yes, it is a wonderful morning. Did you have a good sleep last night?’ Little Hedgehog replied, she smiled back and the two joined Lord Badger on the mossy wall.
‘I couldn’t sleep, I was thinking. How about you two, you must’ve had a good night seeming that you two shared a room!’ He replied, bearing a cheeky smile.
T-Devil (who will now be called Brother-T, I’m not changing it anymore because this is just getting confusing) turned red and looked down at the grass and mumbled,
‘Oh, we had a good sleep. We fell asleep immediately, we were so tired.’
‘Yeah, I bet.’ Lord Badger laughed.
‘We did!’ Brother-T retorted.
‘Course you did!’ Lord Badger was laughing so hard he was on his side and tears were streaming down his face, he had gone bright red and Little Hedgehog thought that he was choking.
‘Oh come on, leave him alone. We just fell asleep and had a cuddle, OK?’ she said in her high pitched voice which sounded like she had enough of his joking. Lord Badger suddenly stopped laughing and straightened himself up, apologizing but still giggling a bit.
‘Oh, sorry, do forgive me. By the by, I have got us another person to help us a bit, a young knight, just returned from the castle just so he can learn again, doesn’t like the idea though so I asked him if he’d like to do me a favor. He’s in the inn at the moment so we won’t see him till about 12:00. Oh, and he’s called Sir Chipsalot.’ He said, after calming himself down. He picked up his sword and started to swing it around in the way that he saw Sir Chipsalot do before. ‘I saw him doing this and I thought that it’d come in useful if we see those annoying prats again!’ he sounded harsher.
‘Hey maybe Allardini knows him, he used to work in the palace.’ Little Hedgehog chirped.
‘Well, we could ask him. Good idea Hedge.’ Brother-T added, he wrapped his arm around her and he kissed her gently. Lord Badger just laughed and looked towards the inn door, he noticed that Allardini had walked out of the door and that he had seen Lord Badger sitting on the moss wall next to Brother-T and Little Hedgehog kissing. He laughed and made a pitiful face at Lord Badger.
‘Get over here and talk to me please, I don’t want to watch them swap saliva all morning.’ Lord Badger mouthed at Allardini. Allardini smiled and ran over to him, he jumped up onto the moss wall. The sky was a deep blue, the clouds were wispy and feathery and the sun was bright and it warmed the four sitting on the wall.
‘What do you want? I’m sure I can help you.’ Allardini asked, smiling.
‘Nothing much, it’s just, do you know a boy named Sir Chipsalot?’ Lord Badger said, he looked at Allardini, his face had turned pale with surprise and a small smile spread across his face,
‘Of course I do, we were mates. He had a good skill with the sword. But he stopped talking to me as soon as I was thrown out of the palace for reckless behaviour, he was afraid that I would get him thrown out too but I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t ruin his dreams,’ he sighed and looked down at the fresh, green grass, ‘he thought that I would, he didn’t trust me, no matter how many times I went back in just to see him, he’d alert the guards and get me thrown out. So much for brotherhood.’
‘What you lot doing then?’ a perky little voice chirped, they all looked at the direction of where the voice came from, it was Shaneo and he was with The Exterminator, Tony Blair, Toni Cabbarini and Sir Chipsalot.
‘Oh, hi Shaneo, we were just talking about Allardini’s past at the palace.’ Lord Badger muttered, he was glaring at Sir Chipsalot. Sir Chipsalot looked at Allardini and yelled,
‘NO, I am not going anywhere with HIM!’ his face turned pale, ‘he’ll ruin my future for sure!’
‘Like hell he will, he’s a good person and he seriously regrets what he did. I’m sure that he wouldn’t destroy what you have. Please, talk to him about it.’ Lord Badger hissed back at him.
Now seeming that Sir Chipsalot was a fair boy, kind and friendly, he agreed to talk to Allardini.
‘I’m sorry about what I did, to everyone at the palace, especially to Grix. Grix managed to get his own back by locking me in a room with no food for two days.’ Allardini said in a sad, apologetic voice.
‘Ha, you must’ve enjoyed yourself there. Anyway, I’m sorry for neglecting you, you are a good friend and I treated you wrong. I was so stupid and thick to realize that you wouldn’t be so selfish to destroy my dreams and break my heart. I’m so sorry, forgive me.’ Sir Chipsalot replied, sounding very sad.
‘Ah well, it was kinda fun, running away from those morons, they couldn’t keep up with me. But then Shaneo and me had to go back into the palace to talk to the princess, and we couldn’t find a way out so we decided to continuously swear at the guards until they threw us out.’ Allardini giggled.
‘Ahhhh, so that was what all the fuss was about, I heard that.’ Sir Chipsalot laughed, ‘I thought that it was you. I was trying to practice with my sword and I nearly killed my tutor by dropping it on him when I heard you.’
‘Oops, sorry ‘bout that, who’s your tutor now?’ Allardini was bright red and laughing like hell.
‘The same person, he called you ‘riff raff’. Posh or what?’ Sir Chipsalot replied.
‘Well, I did say that he was a bit queer!’ Allardini yelled back through laughter.
‘He did say that he thought it would be you as you loved that place so much, he said that he’s glad that you haven’t gone back there for two months. It’s been really lonely without you I have to admit, it made me work harder, to stop thinking about the good times we had shared there over the years. And I missed the stupid guards chasing you, laughing at them tripping over themselves, it’s such a shame that you stopped getting in to play games with them, quite funny. I don’t think you noticed, but, every single time you came in, I was watching you mess around, I could only wish to join you, but then I remembered what I promised my parents and I had to carry on with my training.’ Sir Chipsalot sighed, he looked like he was dreaming.
‘So you did want to talk to me, but you knew that you’d be in trouble if you did, now I understand. Hey! I have an idea, next time we go to the town beneath the palace, we can sneak in and mess around with the guards. It’s really fun, and I can make sure that they don’t throw you out, I’ll say it’s all my fault and that you had a moment of madness.’ Allardini suggested, his voice sounded really bright and excited.
‘Ok, promise that you’ll make sure that we don’t get into serious trouble.’
‘Deal.’ Allardini replied, shaking Sir Chipsalot’s hands.
‘Alright you two, we’re going. Lord Badger seems a bit hasty to get to the forest of light after Shaneo told him about the temple in the forest. But why he’s so interested amazes me.’ Tony Blair said to the two of them sitting down on the grass beneath the mossy wall.
‘Umm, well, Shaneo did say something about a strange part of the forest, I think he even mentioned a strange stone….THAT’S IT!’ Allardini yelled.
‘What? What is it?’ Sir Chipsalot asked.
‘The crystal with King Stryke’s spirit in it is in the forest and Shaneo knows where it is. We can find it and stop the plans of Homerus Beerus Solidus, Edgy and ½ pint.’ He yelled, excitedly.
‘Yes, you’re right. We better go, before anyone else finds out.’ Tony Blair said, he looked around to see if anyone had been listening then the three of them went to join the rest of the group.
Little did they know, two more of the dark minions had been listening to their conversation. Those two were Jonnyson, a knight from the palace, and Sire Smith, a friend of his who had met him many years ago but only recently had agreed to join the dark movement.
Jonnyson was quite surprised when he heard Allardini’s amazing discovery. Sire Smith just smiled uneasily.
‘Oh this is great, we’re only a day’s journey away from a new era.’ Jonnyson said.
‘Well, why don’t we go tell Edgy then? We’re wasting time just standing here.’ Sire Smith asked.
‘Good point, well, don’t just stand around, come on.’ He hissed at him.
‘Why are you so taken up by this?’ He replied.
‘Because it is important that we get the King’s powerful mind to rule our land again, it’s too peaceful for my liking.’
‘But why? We have wars don’t they make you happy?’
‘No, now come on.’ Jonnyson sharply replied and ran off through the village gates.
Sire Smith sighed, watched the gates for a bit, and followed his companion through them and onto the plain.
