Hi-

I have just heard from a friend that the lip-sync problem that my PS2 has when watching DVDs can be cured by buying the remote control. (official Sony one)

Seems that it comes with an update to the DVD program (although it seems this takes up 2.2MB of your memory card!) that has been improved to stop the problem.

I know that I can get the sound back in sync by pause/unpause but its a bit of a pain , particularly as it is a problem that should not be there in the first place !

Can anyone confirm or deny that this fixes the lip-sync problem ? I don't know if it is relevent , but mine is a day 1 PS2 , so perhaps the problem does not exist on later models. Hopefully someone else will have tried the remote control though...)

thanks -

Morgan.

My PS2 used to jump a bit and lose the lip sync. I bought the official remote and I haven't had any probs since, but I have never connected the two.......interesting

yes the V2 driver seems to sort it :-)

While we're on the subject ever since I got an RGB cable I've been forced to dropback to the Version 1 dvd driver because the region X (need it for green screen) doesn't accept the new driver. I've looked for the update code on their web site but couldn't find one that worked, Does anybody know the upgrade code for the old region x to work with the version 2 DVD driver?
