ASHMORE's GT3 Hybrid Editor Tutorial -
-------------------------------------------------

*****You need to have an X-Port v2 installed on your computer in order to make hybrids!*****

1. The first step to creating hybrids is to download the GT3gEditv20.zip file found on my website. (The address to download the program is at the bottom of this tutorial.) This ingenious program was created by MK and is the only way to make hybrids as of right now.

2. Install the program. Choose Start > Run and then find the .zip file on your computer. If your Winzip program does not unzip the file, then you may need to download a newer version of the Winzip program from sites such as http://www.winzip.com.

3. After you have the program installed, open it up. If you consistently make hybrids, I suggest placing a shortcut on your desktop to the program to make it easier to access.

4. After you have opened the program, click on the "Read Garage" button to get started. Find a Gran Turismo 3 game save on your hard drive so that you can edit it. If you don't have one, you can download some off of the internet at websites such as http://www.codejunkies.com.

5. Now all of the cars that were in the Garage of the game save you selected are displayed in order from left to right in the program. ***Note: Do not change the order of the cars in your Garage or your game will not load properly.***

6. Now you will want to change parts on a certain car in your garage. Let's take a Tommykaira ZZ II for an example. Say that you want to take an Escudo engine and put it in your ZZ II.

7. Click on the box under your ZZ II column that is the engine box. It is the fourth part down. This is where you will put the Escudo engine in.

8. Click on the "Change Parts" button. Find the Escudo engine in the list.

9. To find the part faster, click and hold down the mouse button on the "Owner Name" gray heading box and drag it all the way to the left.

10. Then press the "Sort 1st Column" button. This puts the cars in alphabetical order so the part is easier to find.

11. Click on the correct part once and press the "Select" button.

12. The Escudo engine has now been placed inside your ZZ II.

13. To save your garage, press on the "Write Garage" button. Select the folder you want to save it in.

14. The program wants to automatically save it as a "Memory Card" file, but if you save it this way, you will not be able to import it to your Memory Card correctly. Select "All Files" and put a .xpo ending on your file name.

15. Now just upload your updated garage to your Memory Card using your X-Port. Load up GT3 and you are done!

16. You can change all of the parts in the same way that you changed the engine on the Tommykaira. You could also put on a Supra Turbo kit, a Weight Reduction from any car, or even an F-1 chassis.

*****NOTE:You can even change your current cars to any others which are programmed in the game AND you can select cars which were taken out of the English version such as the Diablo GT or 6 new F1 cars or even the PORSHE 911 there are also many more hidden ones and a few samples, BUT us unlucky Britts don’t get the actually body’s for the cars just the name and settings for the cars. If you’re wondering what the body’s of the cars look like they are just that crappy Daihatsu with HUGE BIG wheels*****

OK are you ready for more!

Advanced Hybriding Techniques
------------------------------------

There are many other things you can do with your cars other than change the parts. You can change downforce to extreme amounts, change tire grip, and make any car have the ability to drive on a rally course. Eventually, I assume that MK will edit his program and make a new version so that you will be able to change these things quicker than going through Notepad.

-----Changing Downforce-----
In order to change the downforce, you will first need to export the car so you can edit it in Notepad.
1. First select a box in the column of the car you want to export. It doesn't matter which box you click on.

2. Click on the "Export Car" button.

3. Select "All Files" and save it as a .ini extension. It doesn't really matter what file extension you use, but I like to use .ini.

4. Open up Notepad. Open the file you just saved.

5. In order to change the downforce, scroll down to lines 292 and 296.

6. Line 292 is the front downforce, and line 296 is the rear downforce.

7. You can change it to any number that you want (I think) but you obviously don't want too much.

8. The number you enter in will always be one more than the amount in the game. For example:
292=-230
296=-255
Those numbers would make the downforce 2.29 on the front and 2.54 on the rear.

9. There is also a -0.01 downforce "trick" that will make the most downforce. Just change both values to -0 on the front and rear and your car will stick to the road like glue. It should look like this:
292=-0
296=-0
I have never actually tried this, but it is supposed to work good.

***Note: If you changed the values higher than you are supposed to be able to, don't change the values in the game or they will go back to normal values. For example, if you changed the downforce to 3.55 and the regular maximum is 2.55, and then you change it, it will go back down to 2.55 and you will not be able to make it go back up unless you reload your game.***

10. You will then need to import your car back into your garage using the steps below on importing you car.

-----Changing Grip-----
In order to change the grip you will also need to follow the above steps to export your car.
1. Open up Notepad and find your exported car.

2. Scroll down to lines 356 and 360. You will change the grip values of your tires in the same way you changed the downforce.

3. Most of the grip values should be at around 75 for the front and rear. So it might look like this:
356=-76
360=-76

4. Try changing the values to around the 150 mark for the front and rear. You may find that this is too much grip, but you can always find the value that is right for you. If you want 150, then change the values so they look like this:
356=-151
360=-151
Remeber that the number you change it to will always be one more than the actual result.

5. You will then need to import your car back into your garage using the steps below on importing you car.

-----Importing Cars-----
You can also download cars from other people. You can just look for text files and download them. You can then import them using the "Import Car" button.

1. Just select the slot where you want to import your car to and press the button.

2. Find the text file of the car you saved.

3. Press the Import button and your car shows up in the slot you had selected.

4. Press "Write Garage" and save it as a .xpo file.

5. Upload it into GT3 and you are done!

-----Copying Cars-----
You can copy cars off of web sites themselves and paste them into a new text document for your enjoyment. Look for the car I will be posting soon

1. Copy and paste all of the lines of "code" from the web site.

2. Paste it into a new text document in Notepad.

3. Save it as All Files and add a .ini file extension on the end.

4. Import it into your garage using the steps above. ^

*****IMPORTANT: When copying a car into your game, make sure it is the region you are in. If you are in the UK make sure it says Region=EU in the top of your text file. If you are from America, change it to US. I am not sure about other regions, but I will update shortly. *****

Happy Hybriding!
