Is it just me or is SR not as good as it used to be? I dont blame the staff or any of the users, I blame the gaming industry. There was a time when games were about the games. There were no console wars r big corperations making video games. It was all good, if you find out your old consoles (and I mean older than Playstation and N64 days) you will see what I mean.

A few weeks ago I spent hours playing on my old Sega master system. I played Sonic, Super space invaders, Tom and Jerry, Crash test dummies and Alex the kid. These games were all so easy to pick up and play for ages. None of them had good graphics, but it didnt matter because the games were top quality (Yes even Tom and Jerry, it's based on the movie you know).

Another day I played more modern games, and although these were still fun and enjoyable they lacked that certain something that can be found in old school games.

I would say they're lacking heart, but I dont think it's the games that are heartless. The people behind the games have become greedy and sold out. You play a game these days and you find advertising (KFC has shown up in a few games). What if we were to start having companies advertise in oour posts? 'This post was brought to you by the good people of KFC - it's Finger lickin good!' We also see the same over used ideas that are only including because they are part of the money making formular.

It's all about the money. I remember when I was little, I brought a brand new WWF steael cage challenge NES game for 50p from WHsmith. These days 50p won even buy you a magazine or cheat book. I also remember buying a Game genie for my NES (an old cheat cartradge) which cost 99p from Toys R Us.

Now that Microsoft are in the gaming scene, they have enough money to buy out the competition. They can fid the succesful game series and purchase them making them exclusives to their big black box that they call the Xbox. This almost forces us, the consumers who are adicted to the games, to buy an Xbox just so we can buy the next in the set. When I thought Metal Gear Solid was going Xbox exclusive I was starting to think that I will need to buy one, and a fork lift to carry it home with. That's one accesory Billy Boy Gates hasn't thought up yet, the official Xbox Fork lift, painted black with a big green X to match your console.

As much as I wish game will go back to how they used to be, I know they wont. We always want more and the companies and corpret sponsers are there to give it to us. The closes we have to classic gaming is the Gameboy, which keeps things simple and accesable to all, like they used to be and like they should be.

I dont know about everyone else but this years E3 wasnt all that good. The new MGS add on, sellout pack, whatever you want to call it doesnt seem that interesting. Not many of the other games do either. A new Smackdown game, really? Wow I know what im asking Santa for this year, I just know it's going to be so great and orginal. Out of all the games Tony Hawk 4 is the only one I cant wait to get. Some others are interesting, but no biggy. Oh except Doom 3 of course, but I wouldnt be surprised if they try to tune Doom up to much it will come out nothing like the classics. Please dont mess that one up for us, it's one of our last hopes.

So yeah, I think SR is getting worse, and the games companies are to blame. Please make gaming great again, make it fun and exciting, give us something to talk about, im getting board here. Maybe instead of re-releasing games, they should release consoles and give the new generation a chance to play the consoles they missed out on.

Thanks for reading
Yeah I know, I think this post kinda sucks too, I havent been posting for awhile, im trying to get back in the swing of it.
