Hi,

I am thinking of getting a Playstation 2, so i decided to look on the auctions website. I was looking on ebay and noticed that there was a japanese ps2 on there which was very cheap.

So i was wondering if you could answer me some questions.

Is it possible that i could turn the japanese ps2 from only playing japanese games to one that plays all countries games?

Also would i have to get a japanese memory card to save games?

I would get a uk ps2 but there too expensive for me at the moment. Where the japanese ps2 is still under half price than a uk one. thanks for you help though.

I would get a ps2 from sr on the finance option but i only just miss out on the terms needed.

You'd need a power transformer, or it'd go POP when you plugged it in.

You'd also need a mod-chip, which are dodgy and potentially illegal.

In short, you'd be better off all round just getting a UK PS2.

You can modify a Jap PS2 to make it play other region games. Just need to chip it.

I think you might have to get the Jap memory card but I dont know exactly.

Just get a PAL PS2. You should be able to pick one up cheap now. I know not as cheap as the NTSC ones but it will save alot of hassle that you may encounter.
