I remember a time when WWFE was the greatest. And it just so happens that it was the time when WCW were winning the ratings war. WWFE were on top in my opinion. Stars like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels battled it out for the World Title. Undertaker was a challenger when he was ACTUALLY THE UNDERTAKER, not some hippy redneck weirdo. Back then, the World Title meant something. Now, we have people like Hulk STILL holding the title and CHRIS JERICHO?! WHATS UP WITH THAT?! Chris Jericho doesn't deserve the Women's Title or European Title, let alone 'Undisputed World Title'. When Perfect came back at the Rumble this year I thought times were improving. Perfect was one of the greatest nearly World Champions WWF ever had. But he was released, as was Scott Hall. Now when I think of Scott Hall, i remember the Glory Days. 1995 - 1997 were the greatest times in WWF history. Shawn Michaels, Razor, Diesel, Double J, Bret Hart, Hakushi, Lex Luger, Yokozuna.... they were some great days. I really got annoyed when i missed the Gimmick Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 'X-Seven'. That was my main event. Anyway, now we have Hulk Hogan in a main event against The Undertaker. Two men who could never hold a match. Jericho as the ex-Undisputed Champion, a man who should never be any more than a European Champion. And we're supposed to enjoy this?!
In the past few years, wrestling has become terrible. There's no charisma like Shawn Michaels used to have, nor the arrogance he brought to the ring in every match he had. We have no heart, no soul like the Excellence Of Execution Bret Hart used to wrestle with. Even little things, like how the ring sounds when wrestlers are slammed annoy me and the commentators seem to have worsened. I loved Heenan and Monsoon. Hell, I loved Vince McMahon doing his OTT thing on the mic. But now, although JR and Jerry Lawler are good, they're not special.
WWF seem to be destroying their past. What the hell's going on with Wrestlemania 'X SEVEN' and 'X EIGHT'?!!! The Wrestlemania title made it have such a history. When they started playing with the presentation of the WM name in '94 with Wrestlemania X, i was annoyed but I could understand it because it was it's tenth anniversary. But they carried on changing its presentation even until this day. WHY?! IT WAS A PIECE OF HISTORY. Its the same with Summerslam, Survivor Series, King of The Ring, even the Royal Rumble. The In Your House name has now been dropped totally too. The banners on the outside of the ring are now just a dull WWF symbol too. They used to give the event that umph it needed. Please WWFE, stop destroying your legacy. It can still be salvaged.....
When WWF bought ECW, I saw Spike Dudley. I'd seen him before and he was crazy. Absolutely nuts. He'd do anything. So what do the WWF do? THEY GIVE HIM A GIRLFRIEND. They destroyed his crazy image AND GAVE HIM A GIRLFRIEND. RVD is known for being wild too, as is Rhyno. A few tables and chairs used but thats about it. Rhyno and RVD were made for ECW and hardcore fighting. So why not exploit it? Fans love blood. Every Dudley Boyz match, the crowd wanted the tables. But no, to satisfy 'the family' we get this rubbish. Jericho. JERICHO. EVERY WEEK. WHY?! WHAT HAVE WE DONE TO DESERVE JERICHO EVERY WEEK? BRING BACK DIESEL. BRING BACK RAZOR. HELL BRING BACK DUKE THE DUMPSTER DROESE, SAVIO VEGA, MEN ON A MISSION. Just please, do something.
I suppose what I'm trying to say is that the WWFE has two ways to go. They either a) Bring back the great gimmicks that made the old days so good or b) They make it hardcore because the bloodshed makes excellent TV, as WM13 showed with the Hart/Austin match. So whats it to be?

First of all, I've been searching for a serious WWE forum for a while. Nothing against kids having fun but it can be tiresome having to listen to "Triple H is gonna kick Angle's ass!" over and over again.

Jericho sucks? In the words of a particular (former) superstar, "What?"
Chris Jericho is among the best 5 wrestlers in the company. His matches with Rock were absolutely fantastic and one at least was a Match of the Year candidate. It's well known that Jericho gets screwed around in the WWE and was made to look really weak in the run up to Wrestlemania. Who's fault was that? Big, greasy haired guy maybe...

Scott Hall is a terrible worker.
Kevin Nash is a terrible worker.

1995 the WWF's best period? Excuse me but....the Godwinns.

Oh, and I'd say that the WWE needs less ridiculous gimmicks. Reality is way more moving.

Just to clear up.....

Jericho sucks. SO overated. Name one good match that HE himself has held. Because his matches with the Rock were pretty terrible. And Benoit held the good matches they had. Now Michaels/Ramon at WMX. That was great. As was Austin/Hart at WMXIII. And Michaels/Hart especially at WMXII. Michaels can hold a match, which is why I'm so pleased his back and hope his back is better. And Hart is just brilliant.

Scott Hall and Perfect WERE released BECAUSE they fought on a plane from UK. Actually, mainly because they were drunk and Hennig fought with Lesnar.

Hogan was champion and I thought he was at the time. ok, maybe i got that wrong.

I know X means ten. I'm not stupid. but why refer to it as X 8 rather than 18. Its gone from 1-15, then 2000, the X7 and X8.

Hogan has never held a good match. He's been a hero because of his gimmick, not his ability. He's old. And by the way, Undertaker is 10-0 because THE MATCHES ARE PLANNED BEFOREHAND. HE'S NOT SUPERGIFTED, HE JUST HAS BEHIND THE SCENES POWER. He helped convince McMahon to bring in the nWo.

I never said any of the wrestlers mentioned beforehand were in the battle royal. I know that it was Iron Sheik and Doink (I believe) etc. But Mean Gene and Heenan? Beat that JR, King, Michael Cole, Tazz etc.

And hell no i wont shut up coz i know what im talking about.

So I give you an Austin salute, and bow out......

Maybe he got some facts wrong but it's his opinion and he put some time into writing it. For a first post here I think it's pretty good.

I don't think that was a great post.

He's got MANY things wrong.

Jericho is very talented (I may not like him but he is).

Scott Hall and Mr. Perfect weren't released, they were fired for fighting on a plane and being drunk)

Hulk Hogan ain't the Champion any more.

It's called the WWE, and not the WWFE.

Do you not know that X in Roman means 10??? - X-8 = 18

If Hogan or Taker could never hold a match how is Hogan back in the WWE still performing at about 55 and how is Taker 10 in a row at Wrestlemania and the Undiputed Champion?

Just to let you know, none of the Wrestlers you mentioned above the Gimmick Battle Royal were actually in it.

So could you please shut up!

That was a great post. Although I didn't watch wrestling in those days it made American wrestling really popular. Now WWE is the only serious worldwide wrestling organisation (WWA is not there yet), it has to do everything to please everyone and is not quite doing it right. The roster split is a step in the right direction as they can contain different styles, but some people are always made unhappy. At the moment most characters are boring and gimmicks are weak.

I say on Smackdown bring back better gimmicks like those in the 80's-90's which you can actually get behind and enjoy.

On Raw they should go a more hardcore route to please those longing for blood.

All this stuff just kind of came to me off the top of my head and I haven't thought about it much, I'm not sure if it would be practical but it might.

Savio Vega?

Duke the Dumpster Droese?

Do me a favour, Jericho is one of the best (and most entertaining)wrestlers on the roster, and as for Hall and Nash, well, they've hardly set the world alight since returning, have they? Hall was fired after three months and Nash hasn't wrestled a single competitive match since returning.

Do you even know what you are saying? Chris Jericho is the most entertaining wrestker on the WWE card, bar Rob Van Dam and Mr. Perfect...well...he's almost as past is as Hogan.
