I have a feeling it may be something to do with my anti-virus software (McAfee VirusScan Online), but I'm not sure. I've un-installed and re-installed both bits of software and am still having the same problem.
Thing is, it's a bit of a pain starting it manually each time, and sometimes I forget to check that it's started, which obviously means my PC is open to attack.
So - two questions:
1. Anyone know WHY this is, and how to correct it?
2. If not, can anyone tell me if McAfee Personal Firewall is worse/as good as/better than ZoneAlarm? I may decide to buy it, as I'm sure it will work properly alongside their anti-virus software.
Cheers.
It may well be that when one starts it conflicts with another, I think with zonealarm and anti virus software you can set it up so one starts (firewall) and the other is not active until you make it active, Im not sure whether it is XP or zonealarm which has this option though. I'll try find out.
