I never really expected that kind of result at this level though. Saudi Arabia defence didn't even bother - teh goals aren't quite as good when the opposition is this poor.

We've seen both sides of the story of why smaller teams should or shouldn't be in the World cup.

1. Senegal manage to cause a huge upset and defeat the world champions France.

2. Saudi Arabia are demolished by a weak German side and look rubbish in doing so.

You see that while most of them kind of teams are there as stop-gaps but can also be worthy of the chance of being world champions for the kind of match that Senegal played.

Fair enough. Already Senegal have proved themselves, and have also introduced a future star of the game. But, enevitably there will be smaller teams that do not do so well, such as SA. Some may just slip through the net because of an easier qualifying group.

It just seems kind of unfair that they are in it and a great team like Holland are not.
