What is so fun about watching 10 people in a house doing nothing all day? Why do we take such an interest in what other people do when we have got our own lives to watch?

The Big Brother phenomenon has swept most of the country by storm, you either love it or you hate it! The funny thing is though, even if you do hate it, you still can't help yourself watching it once or twice just to see what is going on!

I came home yesterday to find my sister sitting at the television watching Big Brother, nothing was happening, they were just sitting down doing nothing and my sister found this interesting.

It's strange though as most people could sit down and watch it for a while just in anticipation of what might be happening next? What is so fun about watching nothing? It is just boringly interesting! The fear that if we turn off the channel, something interesting could happen forces us to just sit there watching nothing...

Why are we so interested in these people's lives though? These are 12 of the most boring people in Britain at times and yet we still want to sit there and watch them sleep! At the moment, Channel 4 are broadcasting live from the Big Brother house, Kate is shaving Spencer's face, yet as much as this is boring, I can't bring myself to turn it off. The thought that the minute that I turn the television off something interesting could happen is stopping me from turning it off! The reason is the same as most of the other people watching it, we are all hoping that the relationship between Kate and Spencer would develop and we could see some 'nookie' in the house. It's a worrying fact, but that IS the reason why we are watching it.

The relationships of the people in the house are interesting to people, although none of us would want to admit it, we are all a bunch of perverts waiting for two of the housemates to 'get it on' in the house! We would hate it if we had people watching us 24/7 in all of our private moments, but we can never see enough of other people. If we all had the chance to watch the housemate ALL the time uncut then I'm very sure that we would do this. It's just a problem with us, voyeurism is something that we all enjoy to watch in this context.

We are obsessed with this Big Brother, every chance we get, we go and watch the live coverage of it on television, it doesn't matter how boring the live broadcast is at the moment, we will always be there watching it! I've just spent the last 30 minutes typing this and watching Big Brother at the same time and the most interesting thing that has happened is that Spencer has commented on how 'letting rip' on live television would bring some humour to the world! I find it hard to believe that I have just sat down and watched some of the most boring things like a person shaving, and to make it worse I found it interesting in some ways!

So next time you watch Big Brother, just think to yourself, "Why am I watching this? It isn't interesting at all!" You will be amazed to actually see that the television in front of you is actually incredibly boring and that watching paint dry would have more excitement to it! It may be boring though, but it is interesting and it will always have us hooked...

I never watch big brother at all. There have been times when I turned the channel over and the show was on, but I've never found it hard turning the channel over again. This is mainly because I know nothings going to happen. These 10 people spend most of the day yapping complete bollards to each other, hardly what I call gripping entertainment.

The show is absolutely boring, I remember when they show highlights of the past week in the house they had such crap as 'some people talking in their sleep' or 'the women in the house talk about sex'. Do people really find this s##t entertaining? I bloody don't. The only reason people want to be on big brother is because they think there going get an easy ride into the entertainment and TV business. I saw one of the house guests the other day singing a robbie williams song badly, which looked like he was trying to advertise his talents (if he has any).

Big brother is a complete waste of time, its one of the takiest shows on this planet, with no entertainment value at all. If anyone finds this show entertaining then I'd suggest getting a PC and a copy of the sims. Basically big brother, except you can create whoever you want, move then into a house and control thier day to day life yourself. So much more entertaining than a show where the only thing you can do to interact is phone up every week to throw someone out of the house.

TV at its most low in my opinion, I can't belive people find big brother entertaining to watch.
