i got my orginal ps1 chipped for imports but i gave into temptation and i had 1 or 2 pirates i admit, i think they should play imports anyway, all this locking out US and Jap games is stupid or they should have world releases of games.

For some strange reason SR seem to be a little against piracy ;)

There is such a big temptation to get your console chipped the first time you here about it, but then you think about it. I went through a few stages.


1. Great cheap games and mass

2. scared of opening your prized possesion

3. relize you are killing the industry

4. feel guilty

Bah! Piracy sucks! However, the authorities are a bunch of idiots, they spend far too much time whining and getting their knickers in a knot over this and not enough time actually doing anything ABOUT it in my opinion.

See, the way to combat piracy in my opinion, is to do something about the REASON UK gamers are turning to piracy in the first place, ie the cost of aquiring games legally, I mean yeah yeah they bleat all the crap about high taxes etc but that's down to them wot live on Downing Street.

Ye thoughts! When they said this about the PS2 it took them another year to put the DVD error right when it stopped working after buying the original chip! Microsoft are hard to crack and you know these romours that go around the net and I believe this is nothing more than a nasty rumour! Who really cares anyway I won't be gettting mine chipped!
