Sibs is right, there is no way RARE will leave Nintendo out if they go multi-format. Even if they do go multi-format then they will keep making their best games for the Cube and maybe some exclusives.
Soon everything may be multi-format and then it would make sense in just buying one console.
First off Rare haven't confirmed these rumours and have called them 'cobblers' which, okay, isn't exactly strongly denying them, but it's not saying they're true either. Also, Rare have already worked on GameCube, even if Perfect Dark (and hence Rare themselves) does go multiformat I think Rare will make their games with the GameCube hardware in mind, and then port over to other systems later.
Whether or not Rare do go multiformat, I think they'll still have a strong relationship with Ninty, and I think their support of the GBA with original titles demonstrates this.
