its a shame that sega stopped making consoles, i've got a GC but i have a friend that has a DC and the DC is just a good as my GC.

Sure, it would be brilliant if Sega were still making consoles, but would only give a rise to the chances of SEGA actually being declared bankrupt, which I certainly don't want to happen.
It's a good move that SEGA have done, making games for all consoles, and it's going to be difficult and a big risk for them to stop if they decide to release their own consoles again in the future.
Us gamers will have grown use to the idea of SEGA being a multi-format games developing company, and if they ceased to release games multi-format, I'm almost certain that would have a negative impact on the company.

The Dreamcast is indeed a brilliant console... one of the best, it has to be said. I've had my Dreamcast since September 2001, and now have 19 games (which I won't bother to list unless someone specifically asks), all of which I thoroughly enjoy.... except one.
As for the Gamecube... well it's easily on a par with the Dreamcast. Having played such marvels as Luigi's Mansion, Burnout, Super Smash Bros Melee, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and Star Wars: Rogue Leader, and gasped in disbelief at the sheer graphical quality of the console, I have to say that if I don't get a Gamecube within the next few months... that antique axe thing in the cupboard under the stairs is gonna see the light of day very, very soon.

Yeah, many people forget that the DC is a next-gen console.
I bought my DC on launch day back in 1999 - it's a shame it has faded but I still play on it all the time.
The DC is a great console which didn't deserve to fail.
But the GC is a great console also, but it'll take time for the truly great games to arrive.
