"GTA3 for PC: Troubleshooting (I need some help)"

Just got GTA3 for the PC the other day, and guess what... it doesn't work. It plays through the credits at the start, gets to the screen with all the characters and 'GTA3' on it, and stops.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and how it can be solved? All advice is welcome.

Please don't make me have to take it back to the shop!

is that the one that was on one of the news things on here. the one for getting the screen saver working or somin like that just im getting the game soon and i have windows xp and if it is that one i may as well d/l it now.

If you go to GTA3.com then on the first page you come to there is a link to a useful guide. Have a look.
