I think that instead of Maxis concentrating on bringing out expansion packs that take the sims away from the neighbourhood, they should concentrate on making the neighbourhood better. For example, havent you ever wished that you could make your sim walk down the road and knock on their next - door neighbours door and c if they r home? - i get fed up of always having to have my sims friends over at my sims house. i think your sims friends should be able to phone up the sim you have activated and invite them over. You should be able to walk around the neighbour hood, they could even introduce a dog, or even new characters like a milkman etc. Also something they could do is to let your sims go into the other neighbourhoods, join them up somehow. Oh and they could have a zoo! - if all this comes out on an expansion pack - you heard it here first! - not that id press charges or anything!!!

I downloaded the Jeep. It got confiscated the next day for some reason or other. Thirty grand that cost me!

I agree I've got the sims and all the expansion packs they are great but now they need to improve - make the sims able to do more things - like hot date did very well.

Simville looked good. That was pretty much the Sims except you got to control a whole town instead of just one neighbourhood. You could control everything in the town, from all the citizens and their houses to the towns many businesses.

There was even a great looking 3D engine to power it all, I've seen the screenshots and it looked ace. But for some reason maxis canned the game. I don't know why because I would have loved to play it, it sounded like everything the Sims had but much more. Instead we have to put up with countless add-on packs, which don't add much on to the Sims.

AGREED! I've always wanted to be able to go to my neighbour's houses and play as a guest but it's just never happened.
I reckon going to other neighbourhood's would also be good for making new friends and getting Job Promotions. After all, 2 lonely sims who are only compatible with each other may be seperated in different neighbourhoods!

Maybe having a car could be the answer??
For £5,000 (cheap piece of junk) or upto £20,000 (Mercedes or Porsche) the sims could buy a car, allowing them to get in it and drive off to different neighbourhood's - or to their neighbour's homes.
Or they could even save £50 or so by driving Downtown themselves, rather than paying for a Taxi.

You can donwload cars from Fan Sites, but you can only look at them and can't drive/get in them. There's a white one that wakes you up in the night when the Car Alarm goes off too!

You can also get dogs from Fan Sites, but they're a pain to look after, and need feeding and cleaning up every 5 seconds!

Certainly. I think Maxis should (if they haven't already) start work on Sims 2, with expanded neighborhood and stuff. They could probably manage to implement most of what is contained on the expansion packs into the game per se, making for a superior all-round game.

I couldn't agree more. Although, Taking them to a theme park and making them go on a big nasty ride they don't like could be fun.
