Ok, I have an xbox and was wondering what benefit I will get from the advance scart lead? My TV has a RGB scart socket on it and I have a dolby 5.1 system with a digital in. I have heard people say you can play Halo in 5.1 but there is not digital out on the xbox so is there another way.

How do you know if your TV is compatible with the Advance Scart lead?
Does the Advance Scart slot into the same port as the standard scart lead?

I got the advanced scart yesterday evening and I am very impressed. First it really does make a difference in the picture quality. On Halo I was going down a corridor and there are lights shining and the light looked pixelated but it looks great now. And the 5.1 sound is fab, you can hear where everything is coming from. All I need now is the dvd kit. How much better is the dvd playback over the PS2?

Improves the picture quality by quite alot. On the lead you get with the Xbox all the 3 colours(Red, Green and Blue) each go down one lead, which means that they blend and text on the screen is all blurry. But the scart lead has each colour going through a different channel and so they dont mix and blur. Its like watching a video and then watching a DVD. The DVD is so much clearer.

With small TVs ie a 14in then the difference a scart lead makes in the picture department may not be noticed. But once you start getting 20in + TVs then the picture difference is noticable. Plus the scart lead has a optical link input which will allow the Xbox to be connected to a 5.1 sound system.

Well I’m convinced. So if I get the advanced scart and a standard digital lead and plug it all together I will get games like Halo in 5.1 and the picture will look better. Is that right?
