The GameCube uses tiny little 8cm sized DVD discs to store and play games on - each with a whopping 1.5Gb capacity. We all know that!
I was watching that 'ever reliable' channel Game Network yesterday and someone wrote in to them asking if you can play normal DVD's on the Cube.
One said no, but the other (Carl) said YES! :O
According to him, you CAN play DVD's on 8cm discs (like the GameCube ones) - but if only there were such a thing.
As far as I know, you cannot get DVD's on 8cm discs anywhere. But it's always very hopefully for the future - with the feedback that has been recieved for Nintendo using such a small media.
Being an English guy, I don't see how he could have said anything wrong like an Italian speaking English would.
Could this really be true!????
Will we one day be able to watch DVD's on our cheap little GameCubes???
If it is true, it'll frustrate the gamers who've already imported a Q!
Discuss.

game network are idiots and carl is just plain dumb he said that there were no gamecube games to be released until august and that was before ssb:m and pikmin came out so its probably not true

True, true.... but he's still English, and what he said actually made clear sense!
It's gotta be possible though - and aren't standard Game CD's (on PS2/PC/X-box) different to the current DVD discs anyway???
Surely that means the 8cm DVD CD's would be different to the Game ones?
Maybe they could put the film on one disc, and the extras on another.
And I don't think 8cm DVD's would work on a normal player - something else I also meant to comment on.
