Can - Ege Bamyasi Okraschoten
Frank Zappa - Tinseltoen Rebellion
Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin - II
Cream - Fresh Cream
Black Sabbath - Between Heaven and Hell
Kraftwerk - Radio-Activity
It was a bit of experiment to see if the bands I was constantly being told were great, were actually great...and it looks like they were tight all along. Led Zeppelin are fantastic. I already had Led Zep III, but 1 & 2 are even better. Just pure rock and roll. No fuss, just rock. Black Sabbath surprised me too. I was expecting all goth and dark stuff, but it's actually really rocking. Cream was alright. Clapton's very soulful- which is nice. Can are ace. It's kinda like where Pavement and Blur came from...except Can did it 30 years ago. Kraftwerk really surpassed all expectations. I was expecting all Casio blips, but it was electro at it's best. Nothing better than a German master!
The only letdown wasw Frank Zappa. For a start the CD didn't play in my hi-fi, so I used my PC instead. Not great but not bad. Might stay at the top of my 'play-pile' for a bit, but it'll probably sink eventually. Led Zep and Can are stayers though - I can't emphasise how much I love these two bands.
That is all.
It rules.
