Freddie Ljungberg faces an anxious 24-hour wait before learning whether he will be fit to play against England on Sunday.
Ljungberg limped out of Sweden's morning training session after just five minutes complaining of a pain in his hip.
While Sweden attempted to play down the scare, Ljungberg admitted he first felt the injury a week ago and aggravated it in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Japan.
"When I first felt it a couple of days before the Japan match I didn't take much notice because I really wanted to play in that game," said the Arsenal midfielder, who spent the rest of the session lying on his back.
"It didn't happen in an accident, it just came on slowly. But I felt it again today so I stopped training.
"It hurt a little bit when I ran. I tried to continue training but I decided not to risk anything. Hopefully there will be no problem but I can't say anything for sure until after 24 hours.
"I'm a bit annoyed. I was looking forward to training with the England game just a few days away but, hopefully, it is no big deal.
"It is maybe the result of a very long season. I felt it against Japan but didn't have any treatment. I thought it would disappear after a few days.
"It is hard to say now how it is but I don't think there will be a problem
I hope he does miss the england match as he is a major threat
> I suspect it's just mind games, build up his presence in the match, so
> England fear him a little more.
Ye, but end of the day the England players already know what he can do and fear him Especially after he banged in all them goals towards the end of the premiership season.
