Just recently, i've noticed a couple of games (namely super monkey ball and super smash bros) introducing fairly basic mini-games into the end of game credits sequence.
Hmm... not sure what i think of this.
On one side, you could say that you still have the choice of watching the credits, if you want to. Otherwise, you can continue playing, albeit in a trivial, simple form. But it takes the edge off the boredom of watching tea boy #3's name scroll up the screen.
No harm in that.
Conversly, maybe it's sort of disrespectful to completely ignore the one small part of the game which acknowledges the hard work put in by the creation team?
And perhaps it defeats the point of having credits at all if the game itself distracts you from giving any attention to them.
Opinions?
Oh yeah, what happened to ending the special thanks list (usually the very last section of the credits) with '...and you'?
The thanks may have been insincere, but it was nice to know they thought of us at all : )
Full credits in the options menu, and at the end of the game, just a shorter list of companies envolved, and the key individuals' names. That way, people would at least recognise some names, the important ones, as they only need to watch those for a couple of seconds. If most people pay no attention for the full credits, they probably won't really 'see' any names at all.

Ah yeah. Must try to think of more original titles : )
Funny that the 2 games are from Nintendo and Sega.
Similar companies with similar ideas!
Having pictures from the game during Credits just isn't the same. You need to have something to DO and not just look at or read.
But I still feel Credits are required, and you can usually view them from the Options screen in most games anyway.
Games wouldn't be games without them - just like how films wouldn't be films!
It would be better if they just put all the credits in the options. I dont want to complete a game just to see who it was bloody made by.
Although the thingy with Smash bros is nice. Whats your highest amounts of hits on the credits? I got about 110 methinks.
Sony used to have a similar thingy with early playstation games didnt they? Just a simple little shooting game thingy at the beginning of a game. Think it was to stop people getting board cos of those damn pesky long loading times...
Have a look in the winners list and you will see.
